| There’s something timeless about Jeff Arnett's clocks … the pun is intended. His beautiful, handmade clocks with the “Old World” look are entirely made of wood. Each clock is hand craftedincluding the gears and pendulumusing a variety of woods, including oak, cherry, maple, mahogany, walnut and precious ebony. A mechanical engineer, Jeff's technical expertise gives him the background to lay out and execute the complex workings of each original piece. His woodworking skills do the rest. The open sides of Jeff’s clockwork reveal the precision of his woodwork. Woods like oak split under stress so he uses Baltic birch plywood for gears with different woods for the face and dials. Jeff grew up on Michigan’s lower peninsula and now resides in Phoenix with his wife, where the winters are much more agreeable to the building and production of these one-of-a-kind functional masterpieces. |
